Michigan part 2!

I felt like we left too much of our MI trip out of my last post, so I had to do a part 2!  When you spend 18 days somewhere, there is a lot to tell about!

We were lucky to be able to spend some time with some of my aunts, uncles, cousins, and their spouses and children.  Everyone is getting so busy now with their own growing families, so it's very special when we are able to get together (even if it's a Magic Mike movie date! :) ).  This is a pic of my Aunt Lynn and my cousin Emily :)
I took the kids to the farm again this year.  I feel like it has become a tradition now and they look forward to going every year.  Last year I tried to squeeze into one of these train cars and got stuck!  They must be REALLLLY tiny!!! ;)

More fun farm activities :)
For some reason Ashlyn looks so tall to me in this picture
 Mr Cool in his shades
Helloooo Mr Camel!  This guy has been there for years.  Every time we would get near him, Ashlyn would scream and run the other way.  He liked to spit at us too.  Crazy camel!
Ashlyn really loved feeding the animals this year.  I thought she would be a little more hesitant, but she was practically sticking her hand in their mouths.
This was one of my favorite activities.  I took the kids back to my elementary school and we played on the playground.  It brought back SO many memories!!!  It was a really emotional moment for me...just standing there looking at the school, watching my kids play where I played 25 years ago!
LOOK AT THAT FISH!  Seriously, look close, there is a fish on the line!  It was much bigger in person than it looks in this picture, ha :)  So the story behind this - Chase was begging me to take him fishing and Tony had already gone back to AZ, so I kept saying to Chase "ok, we'll go tomorrow", hoping he would forget.  Well that didn't work.  Finally one day he said "Mom, you say "tomorrow" every day and I really want to go fishing."  I felt SO bad, so immediately I said "get in the car kids, we're going fishing."  I stopped at the corner store and picked up Lucky's Crawlers, a nice 30 pack of worms, and off we went to a local fishing hole.  We put the worm on the hook, cast the line, and caught a fish right off the bat!!  It was so exciting and the kids were beyond thrilled.  They wanted to touch the fish and asked a bunch of questions about it.  Once we threw it back in, Chase couldn't wait to catch another one.  We ended up catching 2 more before we decided to call it a day.  When we got back to the house, Grandpa Joe and Gaga kind of smirked and said "so how was fishing?"  When we told them we caught 3 fish both of their mouths dropped open.  I am so offended!!  Why doesn't anybody think I can succeed at something like fishing?!?!  Grandpa Joe said it's because I'm so girly and fishing is so NOT girly.  Well, I showed them!!  I'm so proud of myself :)  AND I'm so proud that my kids have our fishing excursion memories!!  I should probably turn in my registration for the big Lake MI fishing tournament next summer, don't ya think?!
Good 'ol Sandcastles Museum.  Ashlyn had a blast this year, but Chase was just a little too old for everything.  After about the 4th "this place is for babies", we wrapped it up and went to lunch.
What a ham.  See ya next year Sandcastles!
