Chase decided right before Christmas that it was time to "give the blankie away to a little boy that doesn't have one." Is that the cutest thing or what?? So he decided that he wanted to leave it for our Elf (Tudie) and Tudie would take it to Santa and Santa would deliver it to another little boy. I almost cried it was so dang cute. So one night before Christmas, Tudie took the blankie away and Chase hasn't looked back. Hard to believe since that blanket has literally been attached to him since birth. Almost makes me sad :(

The blankie before heading to the North Pole :) I wish you could get the full effect from the photo, but you can't begin to see the wear and tear without seeing it in person.....the tears, permanent marker, random holes and strings, various unknown stains - there are a LOT of memories on that special little square of fabric!

The memory that will stick with us the most is this huge hole that Chase created so he could slide his arm through the blankie and always have a hold on it. Check out the first picture again...this is how Chase slept every single night for 4 years. I even bought an identical replacement blanket and cut the same hole in it in case (God forbid) something happened to the blankie. I tried to swap them out at one point to 'freshen the blankie' but that wasn't happening. It just wasn't the same. Goodbye blankie, we'll never forget your years of dedication and comfort :)
