This post is a long one, but stick with it and you'll be laughing by the end....or at least crack a smile! Let me walk you through our Gingerbread House Building Extravaganza that took place in our kitchen last night.....

Yay, finally that time of year again! Building the gingerbread house, yippee! Everything is GREAT, all smiles!!

It's looking - hmm, what shall I say - festive? The roof seems to be slipping a tad though....

NOOOOOO! All that hard work gone in a split second! There may have been a few tears.....

After a quick discussion about 'art' and how your creation is special no matter what it looks like, the kids are ok with their new 'house' and continue to decorate what's left after the landslide hit.

And you know what, it's even better now because you can just pour ALL of the sprinkles and candy into the middle of the house because there are no walls to decorate! How fun!!

Then Tony comes along and ruins all the fun. He says to me (as I'm laughing hysterically at the situation), "didn't you follow the directions??" I say, "why would I follow the directions
to build a gingerbread house? It's pretty self explanatory what you need to do
." And he says, as serious as could be, "well it sure doesn't look like the picture on the box." HAHAHA Well that part is pretty obvious....but he's missing the point of building a gingerbread house with the kids! It's supposed to look exactly like what their house turned out looking like!!! (ok, maybe with 4 walls and a roof, but you get the point) UGH, MEN. So clueless.

So because he was upset that the kids wouldn't have a house to show the family over Christmas weekend, he took matters into his own hands and started the repairs. Let's just say it took a long time and many props to get to the next picture.....

SUCCESS! Well, our definition of success :) All that matters is that we had 2 very happy kids and a gingerbread house to show everyone at Christmas. Happy Holidays and may your gingerbread house building experience be as memorable as ours!!!!
